Seven fixtures: three pendants, two beaded chandeliers and two table lamps. Modern organic light fixtures for a kitchen island, a dining table or a bedside, with modern organic pendant light designs in woven rattan and a natural pendant in metal.
What is a pendant light?
A pendant light hangs from the ceiling on a cord or rod and throws light down over one area rather than across a whole room. That makes it the main light above a dining table or an island, and the first impression in an entryway. A modern organic pendant light in woven rattan filters the light through the weave, which softens the shadow it casts. The Java Dome Handwoven Rattan Pendant Light and Adalina Woven Rattan Pendant Light both work that way. A natural pendant in metal, such as the Tohunga Antique Metal Pendant, throws a harder, more directed beam.
How high should you hang a pendant light?
Over a table or island, leave 30 to 36 inches between the surface and the bottom of the shade. In a walkway or entryway, keep the lowest point at least seven feet from the floor. For a run of pendants over an island, space them 24 to 30 inches apart and bring the outer two in from the island ends by about 12 inches. A beaded chandelier such as the Juliana Natural Beaded Chandelier needs the same clearance but more visual room around it.

FAQ
How do you clean a rattan pendant light?
Switch the power off at the wall first. Lift dust off the weave with a soft brush or a low suction vacuum head, moving in the direction the fibre runs. Let any spot you dampen dry fully before the light goes back on.
