Nine benches in solid wood, acacia wood, handwoven abaca, woven cane and woven banana leaf. Upholstered, storage and extendable designs, sized for an entryway bench, the foot of a bed or extra seating at a dining table.
Where does an entryway bench go?
Against the wall you face when you come in, clear of the door swing. Fifteen to 18 inches of depth is enough to sit on and shallow enough to keep the hallway usable, which is the measurement most people get wrong. The Ember Narrow Solid Wood Turned-Leg Bench and the Ember Narrow Solid Acacia Wood A-Frame Bench are built for that constraint. A woven bench does the same work at the foot of a bed, holding the throw and the clothes that never get put away. At a dining table, keep the bench four to six inches shorter than the table edge so it tucks fully under.
How do you attach a cushion to a wood bench?
Non-slip rug tape or hook and loop strips along the seat rails. Both hold under normal use and lift off without marking the finish, which adhesive pads do not. On a slatted or woven seat such as the Franco Woven Cane Solid Wood Bench, run the strips across the frame rails rather than the slats so the fixing has something solid behind it.
