Coffee Tables: Round, Solid Wood and Storage

Our artisan coffee tables come in solid wood, handwoven abaca and recycled coconut shell, in round, oval, square and rectangular shapes. Round coffee tables lead the range, and several designs build in storage. Widths fall between 18 and 54 inches, so measure first, then use the width filter to narrow the grid.

Round Coffee Tables

A round coffee table keeps a path open around a sectional and softens straight lines. The Christie Round Bayur Wood Cross-Base Coffee Table spans 36 inches on a thick X base, and the Quinn Bayur Wood Drum Coffee Table is a tapered espresso drum for a larger room. The Mila Round Recycled Coconut Shell Pedestal Coffee Table raises a white patina mosaic on a single pedestal, and the Lorena Round Solid Teak Wood Coffee Table is a plain round wood coffee table in teak.

Solid Wood Coffee Tables

Most of the collection is wood: bayur, teak, munggur wood, acacia and mango wood. The Elanor Round Turned Leg Coffee Table With Shelf shows mortise and tenon joinery in a light natural finish, and the Kaia Munggur Wood Tree Stump Coffee Table keeps the wood's natural cracks, held with butterfly joints. The Skylar Live Edge Solid Teak Wood Coffee Table lays teak cross sections on an iron stand. Every mango wood piece sits together in our solid mango wood furniture collection.

Coffee Tables with Storage

A coffee table with storage hides remotes, throws and pillows without adding a cabinet. The Marisol Solid Wood Coffee Table with Storage Drawer pairs a drawer with a lower shelf, and the Fulton Round Teak Storage Coffee Table has a lift-off top over a concealed compartment. In woven finishes, the Abella Woven Rectangular Storage Coffee Table has a removable lid and the Laguna Lattice Weave Storage Coffee Table, Set of 2 is a nesting pair wrapped in banana leaf.

Woven Coffee Tables in Handwoven Abaca

A woven coffee table softens the middle of a room. Most of ours are handwoven abaca, a rapidly renewable fiber from a banana plant, woven over a wood frame. The Liv Round Handwoven Abaca Coffee Table measures 34 inches, and the Naomi Square Handwoven Abaca Coffee Table is woven in concentric circles.

The Asura Bayur Wood Coffee Table with Woven Rush Shelf keeps the weave to a banana leaf shelf. For cleaning woven and wood surfaces, see caring for your East at Main furniture.

Oval, Square and Rectangular Coffee Tables

An oval coffee table gives a long surface without corners. The Acacia Oval Solid Wood Coffee Table runs 45 inches in brown or black; the Kali Oval Solid Wood Coffee Table with Round Turned Legs reaches 52 inches in whitewash. Square pieces such as the Piers Bayur Wood Square Plinth Coffee Table suit a sectional, while a rectangular coffee table like the Jasper Waterfall Edge Solid Wood Coffee Table, in black or light natural, suits a long seating wall.

Small and Large Coffee Tables

A small coffee table, 36 inches or less across, suits an apartment. Compact choices include the Abella Round Handwoven Abaca Coffee Table and the Jasmine Enamel Tray Top Coffee Table, whose base folds flat. For a large coffee table in front of a big sectional, the Celeste Solid Mango Wood Arch Coffee Table spans 48 inches.

Coffee Table Questions

How tall should a coffee table be?

Level with the sofa seat or up to two inches below it, usually 16 to 18 inches. Most of our coffee tables sit under 18 inches high and about a third stand 18 to 30 inches, so check each height against your seat.

What size coffee table do I need?

About two thirds the length of your sofa: a 72 inch sofa takes a table around 48 inches long. If people walk around the table often, a round top of 36 inches or more keeps the flow easy.

How far should a coffee table be from the couch?

Leave 14 to 18 inches between the sofa and the table: close enough to reach a drink, with room for knees and feet. Allow roughly 30 inches for any walkway beside it.

How do you style a coffee table?

Odd numbers and varied heights. A tray to corral the small things, a low bowl or a candle, and one stack of books to carry the horizontal line. Leave half the surface clear. A round coastal coffee table takes one central grouping; a longer rectangle carries two with a gap between.

Build the room around it: shop all tables, from side tables to consoles.
