With 2026 now here, the new year comes with new trends and even newer designs for home décor. There are certain pieces that every home needs, but that doesn’t mean that these have to all look the same. That’s definitely the case with the new Zara Side Table, which has an eclectic design source that puts a little bit of “zen” in any den. Responsibly sourced and meticulously crafted, these side tables are exotic while still making any room feel like home.
The Zara Reclaims an Underrated Material

As with other pieces made by East at Main, the Zara Side Table embodies the idea of sustainability. Crafted from munggur wood sourced from Indonesia, it’s a great example of how otherwise overlooked materials can be used to create home décor that can’t be looked away from. In many cases, munggur wood is sadly discarded and thrown to waste, but it’s put to far better use as a sustainable source of furniture material. Not only does every inch of munggur wood tell a unique story, but generations of artisans are a key part of that tale.
Having worked with munggur wood for decades, local artisans dry and hand carve the wood into beautiful piece that’s now on display. Carefully looking over different color and texture options throughout the design process, with the purpose of the piece and the culture it derived from being taken into consideration. Eventually, it was decided to go with a neutral, natural woodgrain that really brings the munggur wood to life. Likewise, the natural variations in the material mean that no two Zara Side Tables are the same, making them even more exotic and unique.
Zara is Defined by Indonesian Design

Another key element of the new East at Main addition has to do with its shape. The Zara Side Table has rounded, almost bowl or bulb-like aspects to its design, separating it from any other side table on the market. These visual aspects aren’t a coincidence, either, as they stem from the same source as the munggur wood itself. Inspired by Indonesian architecture and temples such as the Candi Borobudur and the Pura Besakih, every slope and curve lives inside the Zara, creating a cultural and visual continuity. When combined with a sustainable mission statement, it creates a more natural piece for interior décor, especially homes going for a more bohemian or oriental aesthetic.
Pieces Perfect for Pairing with the Zara

Given its far more naturalistic form and style, the Zara Side Table works great with many of the earthier offerings from East at Main. Need something else to “accent”uate your space? The Kafe 24” Solid Wood Pedestal Accent Table is an excellent roommate for the Zara, with the rustic beige color complementing the similarly bohemian nature of the Zara. Working together on different sides of a sofa, it adds to the natural aura of East at Main’s newest piece. When united with the Zara, the pair definitely puts a bit of zen in any den.
Another somewhat unconventional piece made from an equally exotic material is the Mila 16” Coconut Shell Round Accent Table. Made from recycled coconut shells and painted into an earthy mosaic, it’s as much of a work of abstract art as it is a furniture piece. Available in multiple colors, the brown variant is almost tailor-made to complement the Zara Side Table, with both putting Oriental design firmly on display. Most importantly, they’re also eco-friendly, making environmental aesthetics the best part of pairing these pieces. Whether you add these to the list or look at other décor, the Zara Side Table is definitely the missing piece for every interior.
